The 5th Annual Conference of the Specialty Committee of Tibetan Medicine of the World
Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) and 1st Annual Conference of the
Management Electoral Committee—“2019 Xining International Conference on Tibetan
Medicine”—will be held on August 24-26, 2019 at the Qinghai Conference Center in Xining,

China. The Conference is sponsored by the Specialty Committee of Tibetan Medicine and co-
sponsored by: College of Pharmacology of Qinghai University for Nationalities; Qinghai Jiumei

International Research Center; Qinghai Jiumei Tibetan Medical Group; and Qinghai Golok
Himalayan Institute of Tibetan Medicine Research.

1. Conference Mission:

​

This conference will commemorate the great historically renowned Tibetan physicians and scholars, as well as their lineages, emphasizing methods and initiative for incorporating their academic ideas, contributions and innovations into current practice. The conference will also focus attention on studies and projects cultivating the promotion and preservation of Tibetan medicine, as well as furthering the benefits of Tibetan medicine in current populations it serves and expanding the benefits to a wider population it can serve. The conference will highlight diagnostic and treatment approaches in Tibetan medicine for common illnesses, as well as promote its insights for the more rare illnesses. While promoting the comprehensive development of Tibetan medicine, the conference aims to deepen mutual understandings and relationships with domestic and international academic and research partners through exchange and collaboration.

7. Participants:

Experts, physicians, scholars and graduates from domestic and foreign universities, medical research centers, traditional medical enterprises, folk practitioners of traditional medicine, supporters of traditional medicine.

8. Paper submission:

​

I. Paper requirements:

 

Conference committee will accept papers that have clear focus, rigorous methodology, demonstrated results and conclusions, innovative and practical in nature for the purpose of Tibetan medicine, unpublished in domestic journals, and represents work produced by the paper author(s). Papers will not be returned.

​

        a. Abstract of 400 words or less, including aims, methodology, conclusion and        analysis. Three to four key words. Chinese, Tibetan and English languages are accepted. Abstract and keywords must have Chinese and English, or Chinese and Tibetan. General papers must be 5,000 words or less. Research papers should be 3,000 words or less. Title, author’s name, affiliation, mailing address, telephone number, abstract, keywords, paper content, and references must be included.

        b. Papers should use Microsoft word and A4 size paper. Margins should be 2.5cm. English language portions should be in Times New Roman, font size 12. Chinese language parts should be in Sung font, size 4, thick. Author and affiliation should be in Ü-chen Zhaosi size; abstract and keywords should be in Sung, size 5, and paper content should be in Sung, size Zhaosi. Tibetan parts should use Microsoft Himalaya, title in smaller title size 2, author and affiliation in size 3.

        c. Author’s name, gender, affiliation, ethnicity, educational institute, position, mailing address, telephone number, email address should be included.

 

II. Paper submission:

 

        a. Please submit paper via email to isttm2015@126.com. When submitting, please state the subject as "The World Federation of Tibetan Medicine Professional Committee + Conference Manuscript".

​

        b. Submission deadline: July 20, 2019. The Conference Academic Team will review all submissions and select those for presentation. If selected, the author will be notified to present the paper at the conference and papers will be included in the proceedings of the conference.

​

10. Conference Participation Fee:

​

The registration fee is 800 Yuan for general participants. Graduate students with an official student ID card receive half-price discount. Meals and lodging will be arranged together at the Qinghai Hotel but at participants’ own expense. Cash and credit are accepted. Passes will be granted.

 

Participants will be awarded 6 credits of international level II continuing education in traditional Chinese medicine.

13. Miscellaneous:
